One of the things that I love about working at Spire is the willingness of everyone, from associates all the way up to management, to be involved in the community. At Spire, we recognize that the community impacts our business just as much as our business impacts the community, which is why our management is always encouraging community involvement.

This past year alone, multiple donations were made to different organizations including Goodwill, Pauoa Elementary School, Hongwanji Mission School, YWCA of Oahu, and Laulima Giving Program. Personally, it has been inspiring to see that it’s not just one individual, but Spire as a whole working together to get involved. The reactions of those whom we have helped make it all worth it.

I also had the opportunity to be a part of YWCA’s Going Places Network last fall along with some of the other women from Spire and other businesses. Spire was very generous with our time by allowing us to attend these coaching sessions during working hours every Tuesday over the course of seven weeks. I’m grateful I was able to be a part of this coaching cohort because it was a very humbling experience to see women from different backgrounds all striving to empower themselves.

It has been such a rewarding year and there’s still more to come with other community endeavors ranging from helping out organizations with bookkeeping, consulting, and volunteering. It’s great that being involved in the community is ingrained into who we are as a company.
